Moisture Matic® is an innovative automatic watering system that ensures optimum watering conditions for all pot plants, all year round.
The product waters all plants, vegetables and herbs to the correct level, making it easy to make sure that plants are also kept healthy when away on holiday. Importantly it eliminates the risk of over and under-watering as it releases water only as the plant requires.
The Moisture Matic® uses a sponge-like wick (SPONGEWICK™) to transfer water from the refillable container placed on the side of the pot, directly to the potting mix. When the potting mixture around the SPONGEWICK™ becomes moist, transfer of water slows and then stops when the mix is fully wet.
This innovative product was created by Jim Oates; many will know Jim from the Oates Cleaning brand. In fact it was his passion and knowledge of cleaning products and in particular how sponges work best that led to the development of the SPONGEWICK™.

The Moisture Matic® is suitable for pots, planter boxes and planters, and easily fits to existing pots with a rim width of up to three centimetres. It is available in 800ml, suitable for pots between 20-30cm, and can work without manual refilling for at least one week and often longer.
The product retails at $8.95 and is guaranteed for three years while expected to last at least 10 years.
